The Avenues Crofton Park will host a fitness class geared toward active seniors The classes will be led by Live 2 B Healthy®, a local organization that seeks to inspire older generations to live longer, healthier lives. Live 2 B Healthy® participates in the Silver Sneakers® program, a fitness community that aims to make fitness more fun and accessible to boomers and beyond.

Garage Sale at The Avenues at Crofton Park

Join The Avenues at Crofton Park for its annual Spring Cleaning Garage Sale on Search for unique finds and support a great cause. Proceeds will benefit Brent’s Place, a local charity providing safe and clean housing to those who are battling cancer.

‘The Refugee Crisis’ at The Avenues Crofton Park

Active Minds and The Avenues at Crofton Park will present “The Refugee Crisis” on Friday, May 12 at 2 p.m. Millions of refugees are fleeing from Syria, Iraq and other nations, creating a humanitarian crisis. Many are dying in transit, and the nations receiving them are being overwhelmed. Join us for this educational program to learn how the migrants and the international community are struggling to cope with these challenges. Active Minds is a non-profit organization that raises awareness about mental health issues and suicide risk among young adults.

Zumba Gold with Jean Harding

Join Jean Harding, Certified Zumba Gold instructor for Zumba Gold. Zumba Gold is perfect for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class that recreates the original moves at a lower-intensity. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to sweat, and prepare to leave empowered and feeling strong. Class focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance!

National Senior Health and Fitness Day
All day on Wednesday, May 31
The Avenues at Crofton Park will celebrate National Senior Health and Fitness Day on Wednesday, May 31. Join us for a Heart Walk at 9:30 a.m. followed by mimosas and a cooking demonstration at 10 a.m., mindful stretching at 11 a.m., and a movement and improvement presentation at 1 p.m. A Health and Wellness Fair will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Stop by to receive your complementary functional fitness evaluation during the fair.
