To guide the design transformation, The Avenues invited back Ingrid Fraley, president of Maryland-based Design Services and the original interior design firm behind the community’s distinctive style.
Fraley and the team began by identifying opportunities to refresh beloved community spaces while preserving the familiar elements residents value most. She even visited the Front Range to see firsthand how residents and staff interacted and used the spaces during activities and special themed events to ensure her vision would enrich daily life throughout the community.
Enhancements are underway, including common area updates such as interior and exterior paint, new floor coverings and furniture, and thoughtfully curated artwork. In addition, resident apartments will receive upgrades such as contemporary lighting and energy-efficient appliances.
The vibrant new color palette draws inspiration from Colorado’s diverse landscapes, from charming small-town communities to majestic mountains and expansive plains. Rich gold tones reflect the beauty of the state’s iconic aspen groves, while shades of blue mirror its expansive skies. A touch of The Avenues’ signature red will add warmth and energy while reinforcing a strong sense of identity.
Residents will find refreshed finishes, updated furnishings, decorative accents and thoughtfully redesigned common areas that improve accessibility. Furniture selections prioritize comfort, durability and purpose, while inset carpeting will elevate both the aesthetic and acoustics in the lobby and great room, where a two-story fireplace serves as a focal point.
Favorite community destinations, including the library, fitness room, salon and resident lounges, are being reimagined to create inviting spaces to relax, pursue hobbies and visit with friends and family.
Art will continue to play a central role in the refreshed design. Working with NINE dot ARTS, unique pieces have been selected to reflect Colorado’s character and spirit. The curated collection will complement the community’s existing art program while adding new pieces throughout the property.
